Vlog|| SBGBK2014 My Experience

Hey guys,

Sorry about the wait. I know people had been asking for me where the post was. So instead of giving you a whole bunch of excuses, lets just relish in the fact that it is here!!

So I went to the Smart Brown Girl event here in Brooklyn, NY and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I am a psych major as some of you may know and I have always talked about topics here on my channel and blog space. I went to this event expecting to get something out of it and I did! I had been battling with depression crazy as a teen. I would like to say around Junior High School days. I found myself really in a  bad space and that reflected in how I kept myself. I wanted to push people away so I did all I could think of. I wouldn't put deodorant on, I wouldn't do my hair, I would try and be mean and people still wanted to be around me. I couldn't understand and I still don't till this day.

I went to this event and almost cried like 3 times. I am serious I felt like they were talking to me. I had been debating and fussing and fighting with myself to upload a video on depression and starting the discussion. I have some crazy things in store for The Discussion and feel that it will help many women and men in our communities. I want to impact ALL people not just people who relate on a skin color level. I have been told not to do this because people don't care, but I do and so I am going to dedicate myself and my time to this project like I do my 9-5 that I am hoping I get fired from. Long story!

Makeup|| MAC Fall/ Dark Vampy Collection 2014

Link to the video: http://youtu.be/DHFgx1QroVM

Hey guys as promised. Here are the MAC Lipsticks that I have that are part of their permanent line. I find myself gravitating towards darker colors anyway. It's just my thing lol. So in nor particular order here are the lipsticks I am fond of this fall.

Russian Red:
Russian red is an intense blueish red. I find the formula to be smoother than Ruby Woo but still giving me the same vibe. Its very matte but not drying. Long lasting.

Ruby Woo:
Very matte blue based red. This is my go to red lip. Some people find it too matte and for me I don't have an issue with application. Long lasting as well.

MAC Red:
This lipstick is part of their Satin line. Its a very bright blue-ish red and very in your face. I don't feel it has the best staying power by itself but pried with a lip liner it won't budge.

Diva:
A matte reddish-burgundy color.

Hang up:
This is more of a deep berry shade. It is part of the creme sheen family.

Rebel:
This is a very creamy plumpish color. Another Satin finish and very popular.

Heroine:
Is a matte bright purple. Very gorgeous!
Flat Out Fabulous:
Bright plum matte shade. Very complimentary to many skin tones in my opinion.

Violetta:
Is a gorgeous amplified finish. Bright violet purple.

Media:
This satin finish is great for fall cause it is moisturizing. This is described as an intense reddish purple.

Sin:
This color is described as a deep dark blue red. It has a muddy look to it and I love the matte texture. Though it is matte it isn't drying and I feel it is a gorgeous color.

Smoked purple:
Deep eggplant purple. It is so pretty and you can see the difference when you wear it.

Cyber:
Very intense black purple.

Degree #DoMore

I was able to do this lovely influenster for Degree and can I just take a moment to say... This smells freaking good.

I smell it while I'm moving around all throughout the day. I am a bit heavy handed when it comes to deodorant because I have over active sweat glands. Other people could smell this on me. It has such a clean scent.

Degree with MOTIONSENSE™ technology releases bursts of freshness with every move you make, keeping you protected for longer. The more you move, the more it protects for long lasting wetness and order protection. Find it Walmart!

Curlfriend || Review Creme of Nature w/ Argan Oil Moisturizing MilkMasque

Hey guys so I got my hands on this thanks to the lovely and wonderfully gifted Africa Miranda.

Here is the video review and demo: http://youtu.be/pelY3cJL8LM

Let's just first say I loved the smell of this product. With it's thick consistency and it's deep moisturizing properties I found this product to be everything I needed and then some for my hair to feel hydrated.

I was able to glide through my hair with the product and really detangle without snags. I personally enjoyed the product and will be revisiting. Will it be a holy grail I will not say that it will be.

CalypsoCosmetics Review

So a while back I bought some lipsticks from @calypsocosmetics. They are affordable pigmented lipsticks. 1. Blackchat is a gorgeous purple that I would wear all year round. It's a wearable purple. 2. Blackberry is a very deep fall ready lip color that you will be seeing a lot of this fall. 3. Bare As You Dare is a very pale nude with a bit of a pink undertone. I have to use a liner to pull this color off. It is very pale on me.

To purchase and check them out go to http://www.calypsocosmetic.com you will not be displeased. 😊

1. Blackchat
This lipstick is very pigmented and buildable for a better color pay off.

Backchat

RRP: $10.00 (YOU SAVE $2.00)
$8.00
Backchat does all the talking for you. This purple lipstick doesn't do well with negative criticism. It's cheeky, disputative and often has a sarcastic manner. Approach with caution! (Matte)

2. Blackberry
This color caters to the vampy lover in me. I love this color for fall and feel it is going to be very finished by next year lol.

Blackberry

RRP: $10.00 (YOU SAVE $2.00)
$8.00
The darker the berry, the sweeter the juice. Blackberry will add a new dose of richness to your lips giving a boost in confidence. This deep plum lipstick is both sexy and sultry. (Matte)

 3. Bare As You Dare
This is such a cute nude that I will wear with a liner. I look cray cray with it lol.

Bare As You Dare

RRP: $10.00 (YOU SAVE $2.00)
$8.00
The lipcolor that gives you that naked feeling even though you're fully dressed. Bare As You Dare is for the nude lip color lovers that like to make a softer statement. (Creme)

Coastal Scents: Revealed & Revealed 2

Coastal scents is well known for their affordable and pigmented shadows. I decided to buy both of them for myself and find that I gravitate towards the second more so than the first one. I like the colors and the swatches didn't do it any justice to what was on my fingers. My fingers were still stained after the swatches. The lighting washes out the color though. I swatches from the black towards the left 5 spaces.

Overall I enjoy and love the pallets and can't wait to come up with some makeup looks with these palettes.

Why Is My Hair Not Growing?

why is my hair not growing? Is a question many women ask me. I tell them that their hair is always growing it's about hair care to actually see the growth.

These are some reasons why your hair may appear as though it's not growing:

Length retention (moisturizing and sealing babying your ends and making sure it doesn't rub against your shoulders)
Stress
Eating habits
Water intake (benefits of drinking water)
Scalp massages
Balancing the protein and moisture in your hair
Excessive hair styles
Lack of care

Influenster: Victoria Secret Sport Tester

I had the great opportunity to kick start my workout love by getting a new sports bra. Now I am a big girl and I wear a size 38 DD so to find a comfortable sports bra is like trying to squeeze into a small. I am clearly larger than that lol. This bra was very much so lightweight and very breathe able when it came to fabric. I also found it to be very supportive. The retail value of this bra is $59.50 but it was/is a good investment. I am embarking back into the world of being fit and this sports bra makes me less conscious when it comes to running and my breast flailing around the place. I will have links to my video review in a few hours. Look forward to seeing you guys then 💋💋

Tarte Bow & Go

I have neglected this blog long enough! !!
What better way to start then to talk about this particular palette that was gifted to me by my mother. The pigmentation of this pallet is great and is smooth and not chalky except for the darkest brown it was a bit gritty and had a different texture. For the low price of 49.96 my mother got all of these lovely gifts I am going to do a breakdown of the prices and show swatches in my next post.

Review: Gilette Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor

" Blame the razor, not my skin! Can't wait to test the @GilletteVenus Embrace Sensitive from @Influenster" @_jadorevastia
I tweeted that excitedly today when I got my VoxBox. Now let me give you history the skin on my legs in certain areas get very irritated while others don't. With that being said sometimes I walk around looking like mosquitos bit me up in the winter time.. not the wave! Lol
I chose to try this out and let me say whether you have sensitive skin all over or patches like myself, this is a great razor!  It was able to get close to the skin and not snag like some do. I didn't have any cuts or bleeding with this product.
Let me tell you a bit about the Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive Razor, as it states its for sensitive skin. "60% of women believe their sensitive skin gets in the way of a close, smooth shave; but the sensitive skin symptoms of women are experiencing may just be irritation from using the wrong or dull razor."
There are increased glide enhancing properties with a dab of Aloe... Guess what that means?! Closer shave and less irratation! It came with 2 new heads with 5 blades and protective ribbon of moisture.  Its easy to assemble and store.
